Scalability problem

In the case of Bitcoin, the blocks record transactions into the blockchain and new blocks are generated roughly once every 10 minutes.

The upper limit of a block's size is is set to 1 MB. Once a block reaches the upper size limit, many transactions can not be included, some remittances take more time, some remittances can not be confirmed, and transaction fees will increase to incentivize inclusion in the next possible block.
