Koya Takahashi

Executive Officer

After graduating university in the United States, Koya Takahashi joined the Tokyo branch office of Goldman Sachs Co. Ltd. in 1990, where he gained experience in operations related to Japanese and foreign equities, as well as listed and OTC derivatives. He later moved to the Tokyo branch of Lehman Brothers Japan Inc., initially working in the Operations Department before transitioning to the Compliance Department.

Since then, Takahashi held various compliance-related roles at major foreign securities firms, before he joined QUOINE Corp. (now Custodiem, Inc.) in 2020 as the Head of the Compliance and Risk Management Division, overseeing second-line functions. He played a pivotal role in addressing business improvement orders and registering the company as a Type I Financial Instruments Business Operator. Following the acquisition by FTX Trading in 2022, Takahashi led efforts at FTX Japan, Inc. (formerly QUOINE Corp.) to localize FTX Trading's globally offered services and products for the Japanese market, and was later appointed as a director. After the collapse of FTX Trading in November 2022, he dedicated himself to asset restitution for customers and regulatory response. Takahashi joined bitFlyer Holdings, Inc. in August 2024, and concurrently serves as the Representative Director of Custodiem, Inc.
