Yusuke Araki

After finishing graduate school at Kwansei Gakuin University, Mr. Araki started his career as a financial engineer at Simplex Technology, Inc. He went on to engage in projects related to IT, operations, risk, etc. for financial institutions at consulting firms such as PwC and KPMG, before his involvement in AML/CFT related projects led him to Merpay Inc. as AML/CFT Officer in 2018.

As the person in charge of AML/CFT posture development, he experienced the development from zero, before he joined bitFlyer in June 2022 as Head of the Financial Crime Prevention Department. In August 2022, he launched the Operations Planning Department concurrently taking over the position as Department Head. In July 2023, he was then appointed as Head of the Operations Division, and subsequently appointed as Executive Officer in January 2024.

Mr. Araki is responsible not only for the management of financial crime prevention and operations overall, but also for project management of the entire Group, including the EU and US locations. He has been a speaker at many events and seminars related to AML/CFT and financial crime prevention organized by ACAMS and other organizations and is actively working to strengthen and develop the Fintech industry by providing cutting-edge practical information and case studies on Fintech-specific AML/CFT and financial crime prevention.
