Debit card

A debit card is a card payment method that draws directly on a deposit account. In Japan, the service whereby ATM cards from financial institutions can be used directly to make payments when shopping is sometimes called "J-Debit".

Unlike a credit card, the payment is drawn immediately from the customer's bank account for immediate settlement. When making a transaction, the payment is deducted immediately from the customer's account.
