Tokio Itakura

After completing a master's degree at the Graduate School of Science and Engineering of the Tokyo Institute of Technology, Mr. Itakura started his career at Dentsu International Information Service (now Dentsu Research Institute) and PwC Consulting, where he provided consulting services to the high-tech and manufacturing industries in concurrent engineering and advanced supply chain planning. He then shifted to the financial industry in the early 2000s and became involved in a wide range of consulting projects related to new financial services, including projects of a major EC business and financial institutions for the establishment of online banks, projects of online banks and non-financial institutions to enter the financial business, and support for the establishment of fund transfer companies.

At the same time, Mr. Itakura has been involved in a number of projects at traditional financial institutions including megabanks, where in addition to providing consulting services for upgrades to system risk management and security risk management, he has also been engaged in projects for the enhancement of internal controls, audits and risk management, such as Basel risk management (market, market and operational risk management, etc.), BCP/BCM refinement, FATCA compliance, and AML/CFT compliance. Mr. Itakura has been appointed as Auditing Committee Director of bitFlyer Holdings, Inc. and bitFlyer, Inc. since March 2024.
