Ryota Sasaki

After spending his childhood and elementary school years in London, England, Ryota Sasaki graduated from junior high and high school in Tokyo. He passed the old bar exam while studying at the University of Tokyo Faculty of Law and completed his legal apprenticeship (55th term).

Sasaki proceeded to join Tomotsune & Kimura (now Anderson Mori & Tomotsune), where he provided corporate legal services to domestic and foreign companies mainly in the areas of capital markets (IPOs, global offerings, etc.) and M&A. He then was seconded to the Investment Banking Division of JP Morgan for two years as an attorney, where he was engaged in capital markets and M&A advisory services, before he went to France where he obtained an MBA from INSEAD.

After returning to Anderson Mori & Tomotsune, Sasaki worked at the Investment Banking Division of Barclays Securities Japan Limited in Tokyo, where he was engaged in capital markets and M&A advisory business, and then at the M&A Advisory Division of SMBC Nikko Securities Inc. Ltd. as a Managing Director of the M&A Advisory Division.

In March 2023, Sasaki was appointed as Director and CFO of bitFlyer Holdings Inc. serving also as Director of bitFlyer Inc., bitFlyer Blockchain Inc. and bitFlyer EUROPE S.A. in Luxembourg.
